Alexandra Ying is a figurative sculptor and painter living in Los Angeles who examines the structural and temporal relationship between the human body, nature, and space.

Her practice is informed by formative memories of the Suzhou gardens in her native Jiangsu, China, landscapes that are, as Paul Claudel observed, “not made for walking in straight lines, but for losing oneself.” Translating these spatial dynamics into sculptural narratives in clay and stone, Ying creates work that invites viewers to contemplate and connect to our shared human experience.
